Cooperative Buying & how it works. Close Window

With most vendors amenable to discounting their prices for larger transactions, many traders joining together to purchase the same software or service presents an opportunity for considerable savings. For example, if a software package has a retail price of $1200 for a 25 user license or 25 copies, clearly it's very attractive at $48 a copy.

To implement a cooperative buying strategy it's necessary for traders to associate; i.e., become members of "The Traders2traders Association" (TTA). TTA's mission is to provide its members with software and services as they direct.

Requests for TTA to acquire new software and services for the benefit of its members should be "aired" by emailing traders@traders2traders.com, assuming that you've subscribed to this list. Given there's interest from other members, a price poll is taken to determine an amount that TTA would find necessary to increase it's membership fees so as to acquire the software or service. Here's a hypothetical poll in which you can vote:

A poll is anticipated to be live for a week or so or until there's enough votes at a popular price that makes economic sense for TTA to provide a benefit to its members (that is the subject of the poll). When that happens, TTA offers an elective benefit in which the provision of the use of the product, data or service is made available. Imagine a private online shopping forum where particular benefits are offered to TTA members. Should a member not wish to benefit from the use of any new software, data or service, they simply don't subscribe for the benefit. A little convoluted but it's a viable paradigm as TTA doesn't intend to sell or sub-license anything (at this time).

Voting doesn't obligate or commit a member to any additional membership fees. In the event that not enough people subscribe for an increased benefit for which they voted, a revised poll may have to be done, but in most cases it is assumed that anyone who voted in a successful poll would also pay further membership fees. All transactions are through PayPal.

When the sum of additional membership fees  received by TTA approximates a negotiated price break for any new software, data, or service, it is acquired and made available to all members who subscribed to benefit from its use. TTA calculates membership fees for each benefit it provides and includes a charge to cover its expense of doing so.

Should you have any questions please post them to traders@traders2traders.com (assuming that you've subscribe).
